• N-
. - r
V. Appendix A
4D Process
Define
Establish Audience Objectives
The first step to deve(op effective presentations is to establish high-quality
objectives. Quality objectives consist of three essential attributes: 1) they
outline what content is to be presented, 2) they explain why the material
should be compelling, and 3) they describe how the results of the
presentation will be measured.
We work closely with our clients to ensure effective objectives are created
and are used throughaut the development effort.
Understand the Audiences
Critical to developing presentations that meet their objectives is considering
the individuals who will view the presentations. By taking time to understand
the demographics of the audiences, presentations can be customized to
specific needs and situations. Through interviews and observatians, this
information is gathered and synthesized.
Evaluate the Environment
A person's surroundings can greatly impact their ability to comprehend and
retain informatian. By carefully reviewing the physical location where the
presentation will occur as well as considering other environmental factars
(such as time of day, individual or group) various approaches can be
employed that increase the effectiveness of the presentation.
Create Requirements
Using the established objectives, audience profiles and information regarding
the environment, requirements for the presentation module can be created.
These requirements define haw learning will take place, the presentation
techniques that will be used and any special considerations that must be
factored into the design.
5/25/10 14 of 18 The lona Group
