Ashe, Development Plann <br /> SUBJECT: Creation and Installation of Transfer House History Board <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends City Council approve the contract <br /> from Engraphix Architectural Signage, Inc., to manufacture and install an interpretive sign <br /> depicting the history of the Transfer House. This sign board will be permanently installed <br /> outside the Transfer House in Central Park. <br /> BACKGROUND: Staff has created a colorful and informative layout depicting the history of <br /> the Transfer House starting with its construction at the intersection of Main and Main Streets and <br /> ending at its most recent renovations. The total cost of the project will be $7,660.00. Of that <br /> money, $4,830.00 will be for the structure and graphic panel while $2,830.00 will be used to <br /> pour new footings and install the sign. <br /> This sign will be an excellent addition to the Looking for Lincoln signage and will help with <br /> creating more tourism opportunities within the Downtown. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: N/A. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The creation of the board was collaboration between the <br /> City and the Macon County History Museum. Pictures were also donated by the Schilling <br /> History Room in the Decatur Public Library. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Stephanie E.
