E., Director of Public Works `�'/ �.� <br /> � <br /> SUBJECT: Water Service Agreement for 2110 West Pershing Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a <br /> Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and the property owner of 2110 West <br /> Pershing Road. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> There have been no prior Council actions regarding providing water service to 2110 West <br /> Pershing Road. In accordance with the City Code 64-12, water may be furnished to properties <br /> outside the City limits only through an agreement with the City Council. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In 1990 a 12 inch ductile iron water main was extended south of North Westlawn Avenue to <br /> West Pershing Road, to service residents south of the Boiling Springs area and provide for a <br /> future distribution loop connection to North Summit Avenue. <br /> As with other locations along the perimeter of the city property owners along water lines that <br /> extend beyond the City limits periodically request permission to connect to City water. In <br /> accordance with City Code,these properties must enter into a Water Service Agreement with the <br /> City. The Water Service Agreement includes a requirement that the property owner petition the <br /> City for annexation when the property becomes contiguous to the corporate limits. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution and <br /> agreement. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City <br /> Engineer. Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
