Homeless Council <br /> Plans for supportive housing and services are guided by the Macon County Homeless <br /> Council, which is the designated planning body for the HUD Continuum of Care program in <br /> Macon County. The Homeless Council is a collaborative effort of seven local entities: City of <br /> Decatur, Decatur Housing Autharity, Community Investment Corporation of Decatur, <br /> Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation, Dove Inc., Heritage Behavioral Health <br /> Center, and Neighborhood Housing Development Corporation. The group has designated <br /> Dove as the lead agency. The Homeless Council has an advisory body that includes 67 public <br /> and private entities that address homeiessness along with a number of individual citizens. <br /> The participation of the City of Decatur h as been a key factor in the production of <br /> supportive housing. The City has assisted through planning, technical assistance, and <br /> financial support, as well as facilitating developments with planning, zoning approval and the <br /> building permit process. <br /> Rev. 2010/02/19 � 15 <br />
