The project plans and specifications were prepared by Hanson Professional Services, Inc. The <br /> project was advertised Wednesday, December 16, 2009, and bids were opened on Wednesday, <br /> January 20, 2010. The results for the letting are as follows: <br /> Compared to Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under) <br /> Engineer's Estimate $2,741,586.06 --- <br /> Global Infrastructure <br /> Special Operations Group, LLC $2,847,904.55 3.88% <br /> J. F. Brennan Co., Inc. $3,012,148.37 9.87% <br /> Global Infrastructure, Special Operations Group, LLC provided the low bid for the proposed work. <br /> The City's engineering consultant Hanson Professional Services, Inc. reviewed the bids and <br /> followed up on references for the contractor, they have determined that Global Infrastructure is able <br /> to complete the project as designed. A letter from Hanson recommending award is attached. Staff <br /> recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Global Infrastructure as the lowest <br /> responsible bidder to perform the Lake Decatur Dam Repairs project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this amendment. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Department of Water Management, Hanson Professional <br /> Services, and HDR Engineering <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Director of Water Management, Richard Marley, Public <br /> Works Director, Matt Newell, City Engineer, and Curt Cassidy, Civil Engineer II. Keith Alexander <br /> and Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of <br /> the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact <br /> Funding for this project is budgeted in the Water Fund.
