Marley, P.E., Director of Public Works l 4 <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment 1 to Local Agency Agreement for the MacArthur Road ridge <br /> over Steven's Creek <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staffrecommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolutions authorizing the Mayor to <br /> sign and the City Clerk to attest to the following items related to the replacement of the MacArthur <br /> Road Bridge over Stevens Creek: <br /> 1. Local Agency Amendment #1 for Federal Participation to utilize a maximum of <br /> $1,136,000 (80%) in Federal funds and $284,000 in City matching funds for the <br /> replacement of the MacArthur Road Bridge Over Stevens Creek project pending approval <br /> for the use of Federal funds, and; <br /> 2. Additional appropriation of$24,000 in Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds to pay the City's <br /> estimated portion of the MacArthur Road Bridge Over Stevens Creek project. This is <br /> combined with$260,000 appropriated on November 16, 2009, for a total authorized MFT <br /> allocation of$284,000. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> • August 2, 2004- Council approved Resolution R2004-I 15 authorizing an Agreement with <br /> Homer L. Chastain & Associates, LLP, (Chastain) to inspect five precast concrete deck <br /> bridges, including MacArthur/ Steven's Creek, for a fee not to exceed $7,965. <br /> • August 6, 2007 - Council approved Resolution R2007-139 authorizing an Agreement with <br /> Chastain for engineering services to complete a preliminary design for a fee not to exceed <br /> $35,913. <br /> • April 6, 2009 - Council approved Resolution R2009-38 authorizing an Agreement with <br /> Chastain for the final design of the MacArthur Road Bridge Over Stevens Creek for a fee not <br /> to exceed $98,971. <br /> • November 16, 2009 - Council approved Resolution R2009-230 authorizing a Local Agency <br /> Agreement with the State of Illinois to utilize $1,040,000 (80%) in Federal funds and <br /> $260,000 (20%) in City Motor Fuel Tax funds for the replacement of the MacArthur Road <br /> Bridge Over Stevens Creek. Council also approved Resolution R2009-232 authorizing a <br /> $25,000 agreement with Homer L. Chastain & Associates, LLP, (Chastain) to provide <br /> construction engineering services for the project. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
