Marley, P.E., Director of Public Works �� SUBJECT: Annual Water Main Replacement Project— North Country Club Ro d City Project 09-10 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the contract for the Annual Water Main Replacement Project- North Country Club Road, City Project 09-10, to Barr & Robison Sewer & Excavating, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$179,898, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council approved the FY 2009-10 Capital Improvements Plan which included an allocation of funds for this project. BACKGROUND: Project Description This project will replace an existing 12 inch water main on North Country Club Road between Country Club Meadows Court and Greenway Lane with a new 12 inch main. This section of water main is in poor condition with numerous leaks. The replacement of the water main will restore service reliability and ensure that fire flow requirements are met. This project will replace 2,500 feet of water main. Bidding The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project was advertised August 19, 2009, and bids were opened on September 9, 2009. The results for the letting are as follows: Compared to Engineer's Est.
