McCrady, City Manager `- <br /> Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrato����c <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase Order for a Replacement Wheelchair Ramp for a Bus <br /> SUMMARY Staff recommends that Council adopt a Resolution awarding a <br /> RECOMMENDATION: purchase order for a replacement wheelchair ramp for a bus to the <br /> lowest bidder: Gillig Corporation. <br />� BACKGROUND: The Transit System's maintenance department needs to purchase <br /> a replacement wheelchair ramp for a bus. The wheelchair ramp <br />' was damaged beyond repair in an accident. This ramp is only <br /> available from two vendors: Lift-U, which manufactures the lift, <br /> and Gillig Corporation, which built the bus the ramp was installed <br /> in. The attached rice uotes show that G <br /> illi Co oration is the <br /> P q g � <br /> lowest bidder with a price of$6,393.25, including delivery to <br /> Decatur. <br /> POTENTIAL No objections are expected. <br /> OBJECTION: <br /> 1NPUT FROM James Gillum, Maintenance Superintendent <br /> OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator <br /> BUDGET/TIME The cost of the replacement ramp is an operating expense and would <br /> IMPLICATIONS: be included in the current budget.
