Alexander, Director of Water Management � <br /> SUBJECT: Macon County Soil & Water Conservation District Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an Agreement for Lake Decatur Watershed <br /> Protection with the Macon County Soil & Water Conservation District (MCSWCD) for <br /> $173,889.96. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Since 1988 the City has annually funded watershed protection efforts with the MCSWCD. The <br /> attached agreement describes the services that the MCSWCD will provide to the City for the <br /> same cost as last year's services. It is virtually identical to last year's agreement, and includes: <br /> • Planning and conducting at least 12 watershed conservation public education programs. <br /> • Planning, allocating and implementing watershed conservation cost share projects in the <br /> amount of$40,000. <br /> • Providing research, review and recommendations for watershed management related <br /> topics and issues. <br /> • Employing a full time Watershed Specialist, full time Watershed Conservationist, one- <br /> third time Administrative Assistant and one-quarter time Resource Conservationist or <br /> equivalent. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
