If you concur, please sign both copies, <br /> keep one for your records, and return one copy to our office to my attention. <br /> Our Agreement, dated December 29, 2008, for the proposed dam repairs contains a Scope of <br /> Services related to the bascule gate and sluice gate seals; bascule gate hydraulic cylinder repairs; <br /> and outlet works sluice gate repairs. Based on limited access due to weather conditions at that <br /> time, these services were based on discussion with your office on the condition of the gates and <br /> equipment, as well as observations with limited access. Recently, our subconsultant, HDR , <br /> Engineering (�-IDR) has been able to complete their more detailed investigation and made ' <br /> recommendations for rehabilitation work related to the gate equipment and seals. , <br /> The purpose of this amendment is to provide additional compensation to Hanson and HDR for ' <br /> revised Scope of Services related to HDR's recommendations. Specifically, the effort for Gate <br /> Seal Replacement and removal of the Gate Seal Electric Heaters is anticipated to exceed the <br /> original Agreement amount. In addition, the scope of work has been expanded to include <br /> rehabilitation of the Sluice Gate Machinery which was not in the original scope of work. <br /> Another recommendation included in the �IDR report is for complete replacement of the eight <br /> hydraulic cylinders which operate the bascule gates. The lead time for fabrication and <br /> installation of new cylinders would not allow that work to be included in the 2009 construction <br /> contract.
