Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for small pick up trucks <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding bid to Bob Ridings, Inc. to <br /> furnish two (2) 2009 Ford Ranger small size pick up trucks. <br /> BACKGROUND: The new trucks will be assigned to the Inspections Division for use by the <br /> Construction Code Inspectors. The trucks will replace 2002 Ford Rangers currently in service <br /> with 90,492 miles and 117,011 miles. <br /> A total cost analysis was not necessary since Bob Ridings and Jackson Ford submitted bids for <br /> like trucks. The bid submitted by Miles did not meet specifications because they bid a standard <br /> half ton pick up rather than a compact pick up. <br /> The old trucks will be sold at auction. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Inspections requested the trucks and Fleet Maintenance <br /> wrote the bid specifications. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering & Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard Borders, MSC Manager, 875-4820. Richard Marley will be at the council meeting to <br /> answer questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $35,980 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
