RISK MANAGEMENT DIVISION <br /> Memorandum No. 2009-006 <br /> March 24, 2009 <br /> MEMO TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> FROM: Ryan McCrady, City Manager � <br /> Ron E.Neufeld, Director inancial Management <br /> Scott Clark, Risk Man <br /> SUBJECT: ADDENDUM TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that City Council <br /> approve the Addendum to the Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement between the <br /> City and the Civic Center, thereby allowing the Civic Center employees to join the City's <br /> group health program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Civic Center has been purchasing a group health insurance <br /> policy that covers their employees, and their recent renewal of their health policy <br /> indicated an annual cost of$86,880. If the Civic Center employees are allowed to join <br /> the City's group health program, at an annual cost of $54,672, the Civic Center would <br /> save $32,208 annually. <br /> The Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement of 1994 did not allow the Civic Center <br /> employees to join the City's group health program. The Civic Center prepared the <br /> Addendum and the Civic Center Board approved the Addendum at its March 1 gtn <br /> meeting. The Civic Center has requested that their employees be allowed to join the <br /> City's group health program. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this Addendum. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: For questions or comments regarding this item, contact Risk <br /> Manager Scott Clark at 424-2803 or Finance Director Ron Neufeld at 424-2702. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The Civic Center would realize a savings in their <br /> budget. <br /> Attachments <br />
