McCrady, City Manager ��� <br /> Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator , � <br /> , <br /> �,; � <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase Order for a Replacement Wheelchair Ramp for a Bus <br /> SUMMARY Staff recommends that Council adopt a Resolution awarding a <br /> RECOMMENDATION: purchase order for a replacement wheelchair ramp for a bus to the <br /> lowest bidder: Gillig Corporation. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Transit System's maintenance department needs to purchase <br /> a replacement wheelchair ramp for a bus that was damaged in a <br /> traffic accident. This ramp is only available from two vendors: <br /> Lift-U, which manufactures the lift, and Gillig Corporation, which <br /> built the bus the ramp was installed in. The attached price quotes <br /> show that Gillig Corporation is the lowest bidder with a price of <br /> $6,393.25, including delivery to Decatur. <br /> POTENTIAL No objections are expected. <br /> OBJECTION: <br /> INPUT FROM James Gillum, Maintenance Superintendent ,, <br /> OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator <br /> BUDGET/TIME The cost of the replacement ramp is an operating expense and would <br /> IMPLICATIONS: be included in the current budget.
