Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�'� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for roof replacement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Top Quality <br /> Roofing to remove existing roof and furnish a new roof replacement for the William Street Pump <br /> Station. <br /> BACKGROUND: The William Street Pump Station was built in 1973. The pumping station is <br /> used to provide water pressure to the City when back up water pressure is needed. <br /> The roof is original to the building and has exceeded its life expectancy. When it rains, the roof <br /> leaks and water drips onto the electrical panels and back-up generator in the�puxnp station, <br /> making the roof replacement a necessity. <br /> The low bidder has provided the City with the necessary bonding requirements. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Production requested the roof be replaced and <br /> also wrote the specifications for a new roof. ' <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Director of Water Management, 424-2863. Rob <br /> Shirley, Water Production Manager, 424-2866. Keith will be at the City Council meeting to I <br /> answer any questions the council may have about this purchase. ' <br /> BUDGET: $16,600 from Water Production Division of the Water Fund. <br />
