Smith, Senior Pla <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment of Resolution No. 007-223, Agreement far GIS Technical <br /> Mapping Services with Eastern Illinois University <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the attached <br /> Amendment of Resolution No. R2007-223 authorizing an additional $48,000.00 in expenses for <br /> GPS Utilities Mapping of Storm Water Manhole and Insets with Eastern Illinois University <br /> (EIU). <br /> BACKGROUND: On November 2007, the Council passed Resolution No. R2007-223 <br /> authorizing the expenditure of $50,543.00 for the "purpose of mapping storm water manholes <br /> and inlets as part of the development and implementation of mapping and data services for the <br /> operations of the City and to serve the residents of the City with timely and accurate geographic <br /> information." The figure included in the aforementioned Resolution was based on the best <br /> available data at the time and was an estimated figure taken from the City's current CAD <br /> mapping resources. Over the course of the last year, field work has revealed that there exists <br /> many more manholes and inlets than previously know. As a result, the cost of mapping these <br /> storm water manholes and inlets is anticipated to exceed the authorized amount by$48,000.00. � <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections from any source. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: This project will continue to be cooperatively conducted <br /> and have extensive involvement by the Department of Engineering & Infrastructure, the Water <br /> Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Mark Smith, <br /> Senior Planner, 424-2790, or at mismith(c�,decaturil.�ov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The additional costs will be paid out of funds allocated <br /> by City Departments and the Decatur Sanitary District that are utilizing GIS services. The <br /> additional amounts allocated to GIS implementation include $25,000.00 from the Department of <br /> Engineering and Infrastructure's Capital Improvement Plan for FY 2009, $21,000.00 from the <br /> Water Fund and $20,000.00 from the Decatur Sanitary District. <br />
