Excerpts from Plan Commission Minutes of March 5,2009 continued:
Mr. Cochran said he lives in the area and for two (2) to three (3) the years the parking lot was
empty. Now the restaurant is there and the complex is full and thriving. Mr. Anderson stated he
agrees that Mr. Hunt has done a nice job with the complex.
Chairman Terry Smith asked if staff had received any complaints. Mrs. Stewart said the
complaints she received are complaints about the razor wire not the fence.
Mr. LaVelle Hunt was sworn in by Mrs. Poland.
Mr. Hunt stated he has been trying to clean up the area and they have done a lot of work out
there. They have not had any complaints from the neighbors. He spoke with all of the neighbors
this past weekend and they are 100% behind him. There is one person who has complained and
he has gone to all of the neighbors and asked them to complain about the fence and razor wire.
The neighbors told this person they would refuse to complain. There has been gang activity in
the past and teenagers hanging out in the area.
There were no objectors present.
It was moved and seconded (Anderson/Clevenger) to forward Cal. No. 09-13 to the City
Council with recommendation for approval with the following conditions:
l. 14 evergreen trees must be installed and maintained along Fulton Avenue between
the property line and the fence line to create a sight break for the neighboring
residential properties; and,
2. The fence must be maintained as a sight break fence.
Motion carried unanimously.
