Keck, Economic Development Coordinator`� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 2235 Elizabeth Street. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking voluntary annexation of the subject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Of�ce. Containing approximately 0.584 acres, the property is developed with a <br /> single-family residence. The property to the east is zoned R-1, Single Family Residence District; <br /> properties to the north, south, and west are in the County. When annexed, the area will come into the city <br /> as R-1, Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a single-family residence. <br /> 2. City water is available at Elizabeth Street. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven (7) minutes and thirty <br /> (30) seconds. <br /> 5. Elizabeth Street is seal treated and maintained by the County. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: NONE <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health <br /> Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Jeanelle Keck at 424-2725 or at <br /> jkeck@decaturil.gov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $501.19 would <br /> become available from the combined total real estate ($188.74) motor fuel ($116.62) and state income <br /> taxes ($195.83). <br />
