Marley, P.E., Director of En ineering& Infrastru� eit re <br /> Matthew C.Newell, P.E., City Enginee�� <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinances Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the Intersection of <br /> Lowber Street and Walnut Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizi�g the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersection of Lowber Street and Walnut Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> At the October 14, 2008, meeting of the Traffic & Parking Commission, the Commission <br /> approved a request from City staff recommending replacing the existing yield signs at the <br /> intersection of Lowber Street and Walnut Street with stop signs. <br /> The stop signs have been requested as a result of an accident review performed by City <br /> Engineering and a letter from concerned citizens. <br /> Excerpts of the minutes of the October Traffic and Parking Commission meeting are attached <br /> with the ordinance for Council's review. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Comr�ission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director�r Engineering and <br /> Infrastructure, at 424-2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> The Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, Richard Marley, will be in attendance at the City <br /> Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
