Stickle, Senior Planner�JS i <br /> Jeanelle Keck, Special Projects Planner� � <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the lot to the east of the premises commonly known as 1131 North <br /> Sunnyside Road. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking voluntary annexation of the subject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.98 acres, the property is currently undeveloped. <br /> The properties to the north, south, and east are zoned R-1, Single Family Residence District; the property <br /> to the west is in the County. When annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1, Single Family <br /> Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The lot is currently vacant. <br /> 2. City water is available at Sunnyside Road. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven and five-tenths (7.5) <br /> minutes. <br /> 5. Sunnyside Road is concrete and maintained by the City. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: NONE <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health <br /> Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Jeanelle Keck at 424-2725 or at <br /> jkeck@decaturil.gov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $26.53 would <br /> become available from the real estate taxes. <br />
