The C ty Council approved the R-6
PUD Multiple Dwelling District Planned Unit Development and the -2 PUD Commercial District
Planned Unit Development in December 1995 which allowed for th construction of 14-12 unit
buildings for a total of 168 units, an office building and a retail buildin . In August of 1997, Council
approved amendments that included the reduction of approved units fro 14 to 11 and plans showed
the center as a landscaped area that in the future may have three (3) res dential buildings constructed.
The amendments also included the construction of a second floar to t e commercial building to be
used as office space for the Millikin Institute. Building permits were is ued to build a three (3) story
12 unit residential structure in 2002 and again in 2003.
The subject petition requests amendments to the R-6 PUD and the B-2 PUD to allow for the
construction of a recreation building and an outdoor pool for the res dents and their guests. The
amendment will also include bringing the parking lot to the south into th PUD. Th se buildings were constructed
and approved through the site plan process. The plans now show he as built locations of the
residential structures. This amendment will be included in these amendrhents to allow the site to be in
compliance with City Zoning Ordinance and the approved PUD.
