Marley, P.E., Director of Engineering& Infrastructur <br /> Matthew C.Newell, P.E., City Engine���� <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of Vario s Traffic and Parking <br /> Ordinances <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinances autho ' ing the following items <br /> recommended by the Traffic and Parking Commission at its May 13, 2 08, meeting: <br /> 1. The installation of a handicapped parking space in front of 824 East Prairie Street. <br /> 2. The installation of a handicapped parking space in front of 172 North Gulick Avenue. <br /> 3. The installation of stop signs at the intersection of Logan Stre and Lowber Street. <br /> BACKGROUND• <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission on May 13, 2008, voted to reco end the installation of a <br /> handicap space on the street in front of 824 East Prairie Street which was requested as part of a <br /> zoning change request for the property. Parking is currently allo ed on the street and the <br /> addition of a handicapped parking space at this location would be acce table. <br /> The Commission voted to recommend the installation of a handicap parking space in front of <br /> 1728 North Gulick Avenue at the request of the resident. <br /> The Commission voted to recommend installing stop signs at the in ersection of Logan Street <br /> and Lowber Street. The stop signs were recommended by City Engine ring after completion of a <br /> traffic study which reviewed sight distance, traffic volumes, spe s, and accidents at the <br /> intersection. <br /> Excerpts of the minutes of the May Traffic and Parking Commission meeting are attached with <br /> each ordinance for Council's review. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated: <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Co ission <br /> Page � 1 <br />
