Stewart, Transportation Planner <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 3240 Greenview Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation <br /> would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the <br /> petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.551 acres, the property is a single <br /> family residence and is contiguous to the city limits. Annexation is requested for connection to <br /> city water. The property to the south, east, and west are located in the county; property to the <br /> north is located in the city and zoned R-1 Single Family Residence �istrict; when annexed the <br /> area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information <br /> is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single-family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along Greenview Drive. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available within the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is nine (9) <br /> minutes. <br /> 5. Greenview Drive is a seal treated road and will be maintained by the city. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County <br /> Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. � <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they ay contact Joselyn Stewart <br /> at 424-2782,jas�tewart(ci;decat«rile�t�.�l-�. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue f approximately $787.95 <br /> would become available from the combined total real estate ($454.81 motor fuel ($139.44) and <br /> state income taxes ($193.70) from the property. <br />
