Stic le, Senior Planner j� <br /> Jeanelle Keck, Special Projects Planner� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 2550 West Rock Springs Road. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking voluntary annexation of the subject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 3.262 acres, the property is developed with a <br /> single family residence. The property to the east is zoned R-1, Singl� Family Residence District; <br /> properties to the north, west and south are in the County. When annexed, tl�e area will come into the city <br /> as R-1, Single Family Residence District. The following information is rele ant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a single family residence. <br /> 2. City water is available at West Rock Springs Road. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is even (7)minutes. <br /> 5. West Rock Springs Road is asphalt and maintained by the County. , <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: NONE <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health <br /> Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Jeanelle Keck at 424-2725 or at <br /> j skeck@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of a roximately $683.84 would <br /> become available from the combined total real estate ($350.70) motor fue ($139.44) and state income <br /> taxes ($193.70). <br />
