. , � 'y . <br /> CHAPTER 14 <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> 1. ESTABLISHED. There is hereby created and established he Fire Department which <br /> shall be so organized and administered as the City Manager shall fro time to time direct, and <br /> which shall consist of the Fire Chief and such other officers and emp oyees as the Council may <br /> from time to time authorize. <br /> 2. CHIEF. There is hereby created the office of Fire Chief, e occupant whereof shall <br /> be appointed, and may be removed, by the City Manager at will. <br /> 3. APPOINTMENTS AND RULES. The Fire, Chief shall b the appointing officer of <br /> the occupants of all classified positions assigned to said department, and may make reasonable <br /> rules, regulations and directives not in conflict with law or ordinanc to govern and administer <br /> the activities and carry out the duties and responsibilities thereof, s bject to the direction and <br /> control of the City Manager. <br /> 4. DEPARTMENT DUTIES. The Fire Department i designated the primary <br /> department having jurisdiction of and responsibility for fire suppre sion, fire prevention, fire <br /> cause or origin determination, arson detection and investigation, resc e of persons, and special <br /> services including, but not limited to, emergency medical service and the encouragement of the <br /> prevention of fire. <br /> 5. USE OF EQUIPMENT; PENALTY. No person sha 1 use any motor vehicle, <br /> equipment, appurtenance, tool or apparatus of the City assigned to th Fire Department for any <br /> private purpose, or tamper with, remove, damage, or deface the same, r interfere with the use of <br /> the same by members of the Department or others authorized so to do. Any person who violates <br /> any provisions of this Section shall, upon conviction thereof, be ined not to exceed Five <br /> Hundred Dollars ($500.00). <br /> EXHIBIT A <br />
