ECONOMIC AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT MEMO NDUM <br /> Memo No. 07-94 <br /> August 15, 2007 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Paul Osborne and City Council <br /> FROM: Steve Ga , City Manager <br /> Greg C. e,Assistant City Manage��� <br /> Suzan M. ickle, Senior Planner SMf I <br /> Jeanelle Keck, Special Projects Planner� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 1553 Allis n Drive. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would <br /> produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as <br /> presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking voluntary annexation of the su ject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.56 acres, the roperty is developed with a <br /> single family residence. The property to the east is zoned R-1, Single Family Residence District; <br /> properties to the north, west and south are in the County. When annexed, th area will come into the city <br /> as R-1, Single Family Residence District. The following information is rele ant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel contains a single family residence. , <br /> 2. City water is currently provided to the site. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is five and five-tenths (5.5) <br /> minutes. I <br /> 5. Allison Drive is asphalt and maintained by the Hickory Point Towns ip. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: NONE <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fir , the Macon County Health <br /> Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Jea elle Keck at 424-2725 or at <br /> j skeck@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of ap roximately $688.66 would <br /> become available from the combined total real estate ($355.52) motor fuel ($139.44) and state income <br /> taxes ($193.70).
