Section 5. Not less than two nor more than six unifor patrol units, commonly I <br /> referred to as "early cars," may begin their tour of duty up to one ho r before the regular shift, <br /> providing that the total number of"early cars" on a given shitt does n t exceed the total number <br /> of scheduled units on a given shift, as directed by the Chief of Polic when practical. Officers <br /> may volunteer for this duty or it will be assigned by inverse seniority. <br /> Section 6. The Chief of Police may organize the Crimina Investigations Bureau of <br /> the Police Service such that the officers assigned thereto are required to report to duty at hours <br /> and on days different from those in effect for uniform patrol officers. The Chief of Police, in so <br /> doing, shall assign each such employee a regular duty schedule con isting of five consecutive <br /> eight hour days, such schedule being either Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday <br /> or Tuesday through Saturday, with hours to be determined by the hief of Police. No such <br /> employee shall be required to report to duty, other than for emergen y call in purposes, earlier <br /> than 7:00 a.m. or later than 4:00 p.m., or as otherwise agreed to by t e Chief of Police and the <br /> officers involved. <br /> Section 7. Authorized overtime served by employees in the classified police service <br /> shall be paid subject to the following conditions and exceptions: <br /> (a). The department may make rules not in conflict with this agreement regarding <br /> Overtime. <br /> (b). Overtime authorized for training shall be paid for at o e and one half the regular <br /> rate of pay of the respective employee. Officers shall be reimbursed for travel, lodging, meals <br /> and other justified expenses for training outside Macon County in acco dance with the practice in <br /> effect as of May 1, 1997. <br /> (c). An employee called to duty, as distinguished from an employee who is held over <br /> beyond the quitting time of his regular shift, shall receive overtime pay for the authorized time <br /> actually served but for not less than a minimum of two hours. When n employee is required to <br /> report for duty one hour or less prior to the time his/her regularly sc eduled shift commences, <br /> he/she will be paid time and one-half for only the actual time wor ed prior to commencing <br /> his/her regular shift. <br /> (d). Overtime shall acerue and be computed in increments f one-tenth hour and shall <br /> be subject to department rules. Time recorded within a one-tenth hou increment which is three <br /> (3) minutes or less shall relate back to the last full one-tenth hour ma k; time recorded within a <br /> one-tenth hour increment which is four (4) minutes or more shall rela e forward to the next full <br /> one-tenth hour mark. That is, if any employee works three (3) minut s or less of overtime, no <br /> overtime shall be recorded as having been worked; whereas if the employee works four (4) <br /> minutes through nine (9) minutes of overtime, he will be recorded as� having worked one-tenth <br /> hour of overtime. <br /> (e). When an employee is required to attend court comme cing at a time other than <br /> during his regular shift, said employee shall be paid overtime not les than two hours per day, <br /> s <br />
