The
property is currently developed for the Farm Progress Show.
The requested Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Amendment for the F Progress Site will allow
for the construction of permanent signage at the site. In order to maintain the usability of
Progress City for current and future events the northeast and southe t quadrants are to be left
open and free from permanent signage and buildings. Permanent sigrage will only be located in
the northwest and southwest quadrants of Progress City. In addition, only one (1) sign will be
allowed per exhibit area. The maximum area per sign shall not exce d 100 square feet and the
maximum height shall not exceed 30 feet.
The proposed development is consistent with the goals of the origi a1 Conditional Use Permit
and the Comprehensive Plan.
Based on the above analysis, staff recommends amending the Con itional Use Permit for the
Farm Progress Show with the following condition:
a. A sign permit shall be required for all signage by the Economi and Urban Development
Department.
A motion to forward Calendar Number 07-22 to the City Council 'th a recommendation for
approval is suggested.
Mr. Glenn Nordholm asked where the signs were to be placed. rs. Stewart stated in the
northwest and southwest quadrants of Progress City.
Mr. Terry Smith asked if the signage would affect the street lanterns d poles that are presently
at the site. She said th re are a number of vendors
this year who would like to put up permanent signage for the F Progress Show.
