Stewart, Transportation Planner.�, � SUBJECT: Vacate Public Right-of-Way of the 2600 Block of North nion Boulevard SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of petition to vacate the public right-of-way as indicated on the plat. The City Plan Commission vote 6-0 to recommend approval of this petition at the Apri15, 2007 meeting; the minutes of the meeting re attached. BACKGROUND: The petitioner is requesting vacating public right- f-way in the 2600 Block of North Union Boulevard. The vacation will enable the petitioner to f rther develop their campus with a cancer center. St. John's Lutheran Church has been notified by the petitioner regard ng the vacation and has no objections. The petitioner owns all other adjacent properties. Letters were sent to AmerenIP, Insight Communications and AT&T no ifying the utility companies of the vacation request. An easement will be reserved for utility access. An appraisal was submitted by the petitioner with an estimated mar et value of $22,000.00. A second appraisal was obtained by the City with an estimated market value of $14,480.00. The petitioner will pay the City of Decatur$22,000.00 for the vacated right- f-way. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There were no known objectors at the P an Commission Meeting.
