SUBJECT: Change of street name suffix from ake Crest Avenue�o Lake Crest Drive and change a portion of the street name from Lake Crest Drive to Rockwe 1 Avenue. SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed street name suffix change would help in maintaining consistency and the street na e change would help staff to issue addresses in the new subdivision. BACKGROUND: Rockwell Estates East is a new subdivision locat d to the west of Romano's lst Addition. Rockwell Estates East has been divided into five (5) lot , three (3) of them fronting North Country Club Road and two (2) fronting Lake Crest Drive. In the process of issuing addresses for these lots, the planning staff discovered two problems; (1) There are no addresses available on Lake Crest Drive and (2) that Lake Crest Drive was reco ded as Lake Crest Avenue. To address these problems the Economic & Urban Development D partment is proposing the following changes: 1. Street name suffix changing from Lake Crest Avenue to Lake rest Drive and; 2. Changing the name of a portion of the street from Lake Crest rive to Rockwell Avenue. The following information is relevant to the proposal: 1. Currently, Lake Crest Avenue is being utilized as Lake Crest Drive by the residents, Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB), City Departme ts and the US Post Office. 2. The street sign has been posted as Lake Crest Drive. 3. Lake Crest Drive as it is currently used was recorded as Lake rest Avenue. 4. In an effort to maintain consistency Lake Crest Avenue should be changed to Lake Crest Drive. 5. Changing a portion of Lake Crest Avenue between North Co ntry Club Road and Lake Crest Point to Rockwell Avenue will allow staff to issue addr sses for the lots in the new subdivision Rockwell Estates East. 6. One address will be affected by the proposed changes. Resi ents of that address have been notified of the proposed changes and have been given t e option to retain their old address or be issued a new address on Rockwell Avenue.
