E., Acting Director f Eng. & Infrastruct <br /> SUBJECT: Water Ser ce Agreement Districts <br /> Danny Dr ve, Tohill Road /Dawson Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached or inances authorizing the <br /> fonnation of a Water Service Agreement District for the Danny Drive ar a and a Water Service <br /> Agreement District for the Tohill Road/Dawson Road area, and authori e the City Manager and <br /> Director of Engineering and Infrastructure to sign water service agreeme ts within said areas. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On October 16, 2006, City Council approved the installation of new wat r mains along Danny Drive, <br /> Tohill Road, and Dawson Road. Water main construction work is subst tially completed on Danny <br /> Drive and Dawson Road and these mains are available for residents to c ect. Worlc is still pending <br /> for Tohill Road due to the weather and should be completed in the sprin . The substantial <br /> completion of this work is creating interest in area residents to obtain Cit water. <br /> When properties outside the City liinits connect to City water, a Water S�ivice Agreement must be <br /> entered into between the City and the property owners. These agreeinent are typically approved by <br /> the City Council and signed by the Mayor. When a large number of co ections are anticipated, the <br /> City Council has authorized the fonnation of Water Service Agreement istricts, allowing the <br /> coruiections within the defined area to be approved administratively by C'ty staff. <br /> The number of Water Service Agreement Districts cun•ently authorized b the City Council is 21. If <br /> approved, the proposed Danny Drive and Tohill Road/Dawson Road ar a Water Service Agreement <br /> Districts will be the and 22°d and 23'd Districts and will encoinpass prope ies adjacent to these <br /> streets. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no lalown objecti ns to this request. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br />
