E.,Acting Director f Eng. & Infrastruc <br /> SUBJECT: Water Ser ce Agreement Districts <br /> Danny Dr ve, Tohill Road/Dawson Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: I <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached o dinances authorizing the <br /> formation of a Water Service Agreement District for the Danny Drive ea and a Water Service <br /> Agreement District for the Tohill Road/Dawson Road area, and autho 'ze the City Manager and <br /> Director of Engineering and Infrastructure to sign water service agreem nts within said areas. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On October 16, 2006, City Council approved the installation of new w er mains along Danny Drive, <br /> Tohill Road, and Dawson Road. Water main construction wark is subs antially completed on Danny <br /> Drive and Dawson Road and these mains are available for residents to onnect. Work is still pending <br /> for Tohill Road due to the weather and should be completed in the spri g. The substantial <br /> completion of this work is creating interest in area residents to obtain C'ty water. <br /> When properties outside the City limits connect to City water, a Water �ervice Agreement must be <br /> entered into between the City and the property owners. These agreemerits are typically approved by <br /> the City Council and signed by the Mayor. When a large number of co#mections are anticipated, the <br /> City Council has authorized the formation of Water Service Agreementi Districts, allowing the <br /> connections within the defined area to be approved administratively by City staff. <br /> The number of Water Service Agreement Districts currently authorized by the City Council is 2L If <br /> approved, the proposed Danny Drive and Tohill Road/Dawson Road ea Water Service Agreement <br /> Districts will be the and 22°d and 23ra Districts and will encompass pro erties adjacent to these <br /> streets. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objec ions to this request. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br />
