The subject property is an integral part of the Olde Towne TIF Redevelopment Plan <br /> approved in 2000 to redevelop the Near North Neighborhood an increase linkages between <br /> the Downtown and Millikin University. <br /> 2. The City Council in the past year has approved financing for new streetscape for West <br /> Main Street from Church St. to Oakland Ave. including the use o brick pavers for the street <br /> surface, the addition of a multi-purpose recreation trail, dec rative lighting and added <br /> landscaping. Construction for Phase I (Church St. to Edward St) of the streetscape project <br /> is currently underway. <br /> 3. The Council also approved $500,000 for residential rehabilitatidn along West Main Street. <br /> Ten projects have currently been approved through the program. <br /> 4. The City and Millikin University are also the recipients of a $1.5 million federal <br /> transportation grant to enhance the streetscape around Millikin's campus including West <br /> Main Street from Oakland Ave. to Fairview Ave. <br />
