Stewart, Transportation Planner <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 4108 North McClain Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation <br /> would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recpmmends approval of the <br /> petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subje�t premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.459 acres, the property is a single <br /> family residence and is contiguous to the city limits. The water s�ervice agreement requires <br /> property owners to annex when the property becomes contiguous. PI-operties to the north, east <br /> and west are located in the county; property to the south is located in the city and zoned R-1 <br /> Single Family Residence District; when annexed the area will come �nto the city as R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single-family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along North McClain Drive. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available within the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven (7) and <br /> one-half minutes. <br /> 5. North McClain Drive is a seal treated road and will be maintained by the city. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. I <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been }'eviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructu�+e, Fire, the Macon County <br /> Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart <br /> at 424-2782, i�stewart(ci;decatui�net.�r�. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $612.72 would <br /> become available from the combined total real estate ($353.21) mot�r fuel ($105.57) and state <br /> income taxes ($153.94) from the property. � <br />
