Stewart, Transportation Planner <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 5225 Ocean Trail Ro�ad <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 8.48 acres, the property is undeveloped. Annexation is <br /> requested to be included in the proposed Eastgate Commons TIF District. The property to the east is <br /> located in the county; property to the north, south and west are located in the city and zoned R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District, R-6 Multiple Dwelling District and M-1 Intense Commercial-Light Industrial <br /> District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The <br /> following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. The parcel is currently undeveloped. <br /> 2. City water is available along Maryland Street. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available within the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is eight(8)minutes. <br /> 5. Ocean Trail Road is an asphalt road and will be maintained by the city. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. ' <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,IdStcw�art�ci decaturnr;t.ar�. �� <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $692.81 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($433.3) motor fuel ($105.57) and state income taxes <br /> ($153.94)from the property. <br />
