Miller, AICP, Senior Planner�\ <br /> Greg Crowe, Economic Development Coordinat��'� <br /> SUBJECT: Vacate Public Rights-of-Way West of 1000 Block of Sout Main Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the petition to vacate the <br /> public rights-of-way as indicated on the plat. The City Plan Commis ion voted 7-0 to recommend <br /> approval of this petition at the September 18, 2006 hearing; the minutes o�f the meeting are attached. <br /> BACKGROUND: The petitioner is requesting vacating public rights- f-way in the 1000 Block of <br /> South Main Streets including alleys and a portion of Marion Street. Th petitioner does not currently <br /> own all of the property adjacent to the requested vacation but will be urchasing all of the land to <br /> facilitate the development. The current property owners have been noti ied of the requested vacation <br /> by the petitioner. <br /> • Letters were sent to AmerenIP, Insight Communications and AT&T noti ying the utility companies of <br /> the vacation request. Insight requested that a fifteen (15) foot easement provided along South Main <br /> Street and the southern border of the development. The petitioner has inc uded the requested easement <br /> on the submitted site plans. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There were no objectors to the petiti n at the Plan Commission <br /> meeting. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to reg Crowe at 424-2725 or at <br /> gccrowe(a�decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: An appraisal was submitted by the petitioner with an estimated <br /> market value of $6,948.00. A second appraisal was provided with a estimated market value of <br /> $3,150.00. The petitioner will pay the City the higher appraisal value of$ ,948.00. <br />
