Miller, AICP, Senior Planner��-°�� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 4111 North McClain Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a <br /> logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. ' <br /> BACKGROIJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the city <br /> clerk's office. Containing approximately 0.726 acres, the property is developed as a single family residence <br /> and is contiguous to the city limits. The water service agreement requires property owners to annex when the ' <br /> property becomes contiguous. Property to the south is located in the city and is zoned R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District. Properties to the north, east and west are all located in the county; when annexed the area <br /> will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the <br /> area in question: <br /> l. There is a single family residence on the subject property. <br /> 2. City water is currently provided to the site through a water agreement. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven(7)minutes. <br /> 5. North McClain Drive is asphalt treated and maintained by the City of Decatur. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Streets, Engineering and Infrastructure, Legal,Fire, and the Macon County Health Department. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Kathy Miller at 424-2786 or <br /> kj miller@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $622.31 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($362.80), motor fuel ($105.57) and state income taxes <br /> ($153.94) from the property. <br />
