Miller, AICP, Senior Planner��►'� <br /> Vasudha Pinnamaraju, GIS Planner �'J���^�-� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 3595 North Betzer Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corparate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLTND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> city clerk's office. Containing approximately 0.977 acres, the property is a single family residence. <br /> Property to the north is located in the city and is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District. Properties '� <br /> to the south, east and west are all located in the county; when annexed the area will come into the city as I <br /> R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> l. There is a single family residence on the subject property. <br /> 2. City water is available along North Betzer Avenue. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is six (6) minutes and <br /> fifteen(15)seconds. <br /> 5. North Betzer Avenue is seal treated and is maintained by the City of Decatur. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Streets, Engineering and Infrastructure, Legal, Fire, and the Macon County Health Department. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Vasudha Pinnamaraju at <br /> 424-2781,vgpinnam@decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $330.87 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($225.30), motor fuel ($105.57) and state income taxes <br /> ($153.94) from the property. <br />
