Stewart, Transportation Planner�� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 333 East Hillshire Road <br /> SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation <br /> would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the <br /> petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed <br /> with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 1.3 acres, the property is a single family <br /> residence. Annexation is requested for connection to city water. The property to the north, <br /> south, and east are located in the county; property to the west is located in the city and zoned R-1 <br /> Single Family Residence District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single <br /> Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single-family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along South Franklin Street. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available within the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is seven (7) <br /> minutes. <br /> 5. East Hillshire Road is a seal treated road and will be maintained by the city. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by <br /> Municipal Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County <br /> Health Department and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart <br /> at 424-2782, jaste���art{��decatt►ri�et.ol��. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $550.69 would <br /> become available from the combined total real estate ($291.18) motor fuel ($105.57) and state <br /> income taxes ($153.94) from the property. <br />
