Miller, AICP, Seniar Planner� Vasudha Pinnamaraju, Planner �n .��;�„�.t,-.i2t �� � SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 444 West Hillshire Road SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the city clerk's office. Containing approximately 1.00 acre, the property is under construction. Part of the property to the east is located in the city and is zoned R-1 Single Family Residence District. Property to the south (annexed June 19, 2006) will be R-1 Single Family Residence District. Properties to the north and west are located in the county; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: 1. A new home is being constructed at the subject property. 2. Water is available at West Hillshire Road. 3. Sanitary sewer is not available. 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is eight(8)minutes. 5. Hillshire Road is seal treated and is currently maintained by the City of Decatur. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, Streets, Engineering and Infrastructure, Legal, Fire, and the Macon County Health Department.
