Stewart, Transportation Planner� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 1909 South Taylorville Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce �! <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petirion as presented. � <br /> BACKGROLJND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.560 acres, the property is a business. Annexation is <br /> requested for connection to city water. The property to the north, south and west are located in the <br /> county; property to the east is located in the city and zoned M-1 Intense Commercial — Light Industrial <br /> District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence Dish-ict. The <br /> following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a business on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along South Taylorville Road. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is within 200 feet of the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is six(6)minutes. <br /> 5. South Taylorville Road is an asphalted road maintained by the state. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,��i5t���art'.a,c�ecat�unc�l.or�. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $730.15 would become <br /> available from real estate($730.15)taxes from the property. <br />
