ORDINANCE NO. 2006-43 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ALL WAY STOP INTERSECTION - CALHOUN STREET AND CLAY STREET - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the intersection of Calhoun Street and Clay Street in the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, designated and established as a all-way stop intersection. Section 2. That when appropriate signs are erected giving notice thereof, vehicular traffic approaching said intersection from any direction, shall stop and after having stopped, shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle which has entered the intersection from another direction or which is approaching so closely on the roadway as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time when said vehicle is moving across or within the intersection, and thereafter having so stopped and so yielded, may proceed at such time as a safe interval occurs. Section 3. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense. Section 4. That the provisions of all ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance which insofar as the same do conflict therewith be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
