RECORDER AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY - 3477 WEST MARIETTA AVENUE - WHEREAS, there having been filed with the City Clerk, and by said Clerk presented to the Council herewith, the petition under oath of Richard L. DeLatte, Jr. requesting that there be annexed to the City territory described as: The East 82.4 feet of the following described tract: Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section Eight (8), Township Sixteen (16) North, Range Two (2) East of the jrd P.M., thence North 30 feet to the North right-of-way line of West Marietta, thence East 247.4 feet, thence South 30 feet to the North line of said Southwest `/4 of the Southwest '/4 of Section Eight (8), thence South 403.45 feet to the North line of the Norfolk Southern Railroad right-of-way, thence Northwesterly along the North line of said Railroad right-of-way to the West line of said Section Eight (8), thence North along the West line of said Section Eight (8) to the place of begin- ning. Said parcel contains 34,716 square feet or 0.797 acres more or less; and, WHEREAS, it appears said petition is signed by the owners of record of all land within such territory and by at least 51% of the electors residing therein, and that said territory is con- tiguous to the City and not within the corporate limits of any city, village or incorporated town or other municipality; and, WHEREAS, notice of intention to take action for annexation has been given as required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That said petition and the request thereof be, and the same are hereby, ap- proved.
