Mi er, AICP, Senior Planner/�q�.-� <br /> Joselyn A. tewart, Transportation Planner�� <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 3477 West Marietta Street <br />, SUNIl�IARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petirion as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the <br /> City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.797 acres, the property is a single family residence. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to city water. The property to the north and west are located in <br /> the county; property to the east and south aze located in the city and zoned R-1 Single Family Residence <br /> District and R-3 Single Family Residence District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 <br /> Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along West Marietta Street. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is not available to the area. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Deparhnent is eight(8)minutes. <br /> 5. West Marietta Street is seal treated and maintained by the city. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Deparhnent <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jastewart(cLdecaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIl�IE IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $478.78 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($253.02) motor fuel ($91.45) and state income taxes <br /> ($134.31)from the property. <br />
