EXCERPTS OF THE
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
TRAFFIC AND PARKING COMMISSION
Tuesday, February 14, 2006, 4:00 P.M.
Item # 1 Request for stop signs at the intersection of Church Street and Damon
Avenue
Phil Bauer opened the meeting asking for any thoughts from the Commission on the first item.
Matt Newell stated the speeds were not out of the ordinary for this intersection. Ed Harris made
a motion that the Commission follow staff recommendation but couldn't understand the number
of accidents that occur as it seemed visibility was adequate at the intersection. Newell stated
that there is so little traffic on the side streets when two vehicles are present at the same time it
surprises them. Damon is the heaviest traveled street and southbound traffic is coming out of a
depression.
It was moved and seconded (Harris /Wennecker) to follow staff recommendation that stop signs
be installed at Damon Avenue / Church Street facing Church Street. Motion carried
unanimously.
