ADDITIONS AND CHAPTER 47 - CONTROL OF ANIMALS. FOWL AND DOGS— 1. DEFINITIONS. (fl. Registration Certificate - a document or writing furnished by the Finance Department of the City of Decatur upon proper registration and upon payment of the registration fee herein imposed, unless exempt from pavment of the re�istration fee. �1). Public Safet�gency — a functional division of a public a ency which provides firefi��police, medical, or other emer ency services. 20. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES. A. All dogs and cats kept and maintained within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur shall be registered by the owner or owners thereof with the Finance Department. The owner or owners of said animal shall present proof of rabies vaccination to the Finance Department upon which the dog or cat may be registered. Such registration shall be valid for one year from the date of vaccination. The registration fee for dogs and cats registered within 30 days of inoculation against rabies shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00) if the dog or cat is spayed or neutered and Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00) if the dog ar cat is not so altered. The registration fee for any dog or cat registered more than 30 days after the date of inoculation against rabies shall be double the original fee. Exempt from the re�istration fee are trained public safet�gency owned do�s maintained by public safetv officers for use in official public safety duties fulltime, with proof of such certified b�public safet��encv's Chief or other a�ency head. B. Upon payment of the annual registration fee, unless exempt for such payment, a registration certificate will be issued. A copy of said certificate shall be kept by the owner, the Finance Department and the D.V.M. inoculating the dog or cat. The Registration Certificate shall be appropriately numbered and serially filed by the Finance Department.
