Ste�vart, Transportation Planner�,� . <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of territory located at 3525 East Orchard Drive <br /> SLTMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce <br /> a logical extension of the corporate limits; staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br /> BACKGROLTND: A valid petition seeking annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City <br /> Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 1.30 acres, the property is a single family residence. <br /> Annexation is requested for connection to city water. The property to the south and east are located in the <br /> county; property to the north and west are located in the city and zoned R-1 Single Family Residence <br /> District; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The <br /> following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. There is a single family residence on the parcel. <br /> 2. City water is available along East Orchard Drive. <br /> 3. Sanitary sewer is available along East Orchard Drive. <br /> 4. The average fire response time from the Decatur Fire Department is six and one-half <br /> (6.5)minutes. <br /> 5. East Orchard Drive is asphalted and maintained by the city. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal �� <br /> Services, Water Distribution, Engineering and Infrastructure, Fire, the Macon County Health Department <br /> and the Decatur Sanitary District. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: If Council members have questions they may contact Joselyn Stewart at 424- <br /> 2782,jastewart(�i;decaturnet.org. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional annual revenue of approximately $520.17 would become <br /> available from the combined total real estate ($294.41) motor fuel ($91.45) and state income taxes <br /> ($134.31)from the property. <br />
