Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�l� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for full size utility vehicle <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Miles <br /> Chevrolet to furnish one (1) 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe full size utility vehicle. <br /> BACKGROUND: The new utility vehicle will be assigned to the Fire Department. It will <br /> replace a 1999 GMC Suburban 4x4 currently in service with 56,376 miles and 3802 engine <br /> hours. It has been a backup vehicle to the department's BC vehicle, which is used by the Fire <br /> Department's Battalion Chiefs. The current utility vehicle has been held 3 years past its <br /> scheduled replacement life of l years. <br /> When the new vehicle arrives it will be used as the front line BC car. The current front line BC <br /> vehicle will move down to the backup position. A total cost analysis was not necessary since <br /> one bid was received. The old Suburban will be sold at auction. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fire Department requested the vehicle and Fleet <br /> Maintenance wrote the bid specifications. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard Borders, MSC Manager, 875-4820. Richard Marley will be at the council meeting to <br /> answer questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $31,947.44 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
