Perry, Purchasing Supervisord� <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for a small sport utility vehicle <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarc�ing contract to Jackson Ford, <br /> Inc. to furnish one (1) 2009 Ford Escape small sport utility vehicle. <br /> BACKGROUND: The sport utility vehicle will be assigned to Water Services. It will replace <br /> a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier currently in service with 51,350 miles. The car has been held 4 years <br /> past its scheduled replacement life of l years. Due to some reassignment of vehicles with the <br /> Water Distribution Division, the new vehicle will be used by the Water Services Manager. <br /> A total cost analysis was performed on the bids received, and Jackson Ford, Inc. was the most <br /> responsive and responsible bidder. The old vehicle will be sold at auction. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services requested the vehicle. Fleet <br /> Maintenance wrote the specifications. Both recommend approval of the bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard Borders, MSC Manager, 875-4820. Richard Marley will be at the council meeting to <br /> answer questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $19,387.00 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. , <br />
