Perry, Purchasing Supervisora(� �/ <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for heavy duty 3/4 ton pick up trucks <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding bid to Jackson Ford, Inc. <br /> to furnish two (2) 2009 F250 Ford heavy duty 3/4 ton pick up trucks with snow plows. <br /> BACKGROUND: The new trucks will be assi ned to the Forestr and Stree Di ' <br /> g y t visions. The <br />, truck in Forestry has an 8 year life and is scheduled for replacement this fiscal year. It will <br /> replace a 2000 Chevrolet 4 x 4 pickup truck with 72,307 miles that is currently in service. <br /> The truck in the Street Division has a 6 year life and has been held over 2 years past its <br />, scheduled replacement. It will replace a 2001 Dodge 3/4 ton 4 x 4 pickup truck with 74,328 miles <br /> that is currently in service. A total cost analysis was not necessary since both bidders submitted <br /> bids for like trucks. The old trucks will be sold at auction. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Forestry and Street Divisions requested the trucks and <br /> Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid specifications. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Engineering & Infrastructure, 424-2747. <br /> Richard Borders, MSC Manager, 875-4820. Richard Marley will be at the council meeting to <br /> answer questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $47,470.08 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
