Wood Street <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution regarding FY2008/2009 CDBG funding <br /> for the rehabilitation. The resolution provides funds up to $20,000 for the installation of new <br /> energy efficient windows and security improvements such as doors and two security cameras <br />' with monitor for the eight (8) residential units for low-income residents. The eight units are <br /> located at 456 W. Wood Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In September 2008, the City of Decatur published a Request for Proposal for CDBG funding for <br /> Multi-Unit Rental Rehabilitation with emphasis to benefit very low/low income persons. <br /> Rehabilitation could include safety and security improvements, incorporate energy and/or <br /> accessibility improvements. Proposals were received and scored by the Neighborhood <br /> Redevelopment Division. Neighborhood Housing Development Corporation (NHDC) was one <br /> of the qualified proposals for the CDBG funds. The proposal will allow NHDC to install energy <br /> efficient windows and security improvements. Staff recommends approval of funding for the <br /> 456 W. Wood Street ro'ect.
